Welcome

I’m Matt. I’m a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) and ACPE Certified Educator. My work and perspective has been shaped in clinical settings, interdisciplinary teams, military settings, faith communities, and learning environments. Over the years, I’ve accompanied patients, families, hospital staff, soldiers, and students through moments of crisis and transition. I enjoy co-creating learning environments where caregivers can grow in skill, self-awareness, and ethical grounding.

My work has included direct care as well as developing and supporting Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs, mentoring students, and collaborating with leaders to integrate spiritual care into the broader mission of organizations. These experiences continue to inform how I teach, supervise, support, and encourage individuals and groups.

At the heart of what I offer is a simple belief:
People don’t need to be fixed—they need to be accompanied well.

What You’ll Find Here

This site is an introduction to the different ways we can work together:

  • Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) & Training
Contract and collaborative educational offerings for organizations and individuals. This includes program development, curriculum design, supervision, and consultation—grounded in ACPE standards and evolving needs of contemporary spiritual care.

  • Spiritual Care & Direction (1:1 and Groups)
A space to explore life’s deeper questions—grief, purpose, identity, doubt, hope—within a respectful, nonjudgmental relationship.

  • Teaching, Courses, & Workshops
Thoughtfully designed learning experiences that integrate theory, reflection, and real-world application. Offerings are shaped by both clinical practice and years of experience in adult education and professional formation.

An Approach That Meets You Where You Are

You don’t need to be religious to engage in this work.
You don’t need to have the “right” language for what you’re experiencing.

My approach is shaped by years of working across diverse belief systems, unique contexts, and group dynamics. It is attentive to both the inner life of the individual and the larger systems in which care happens—recognizing that meaningful support often requires both personal reflection and thoughtful structure.

This is a space that welcomes:

  • uncertainty and questioning

  • diverse beliefs and doubts of all backgrounds

  • personal and professional exploration

The focus is not on answers but clarifying the questions—helping you listen more closely to your own experience, your values, and what matters most.
